Task Force Security Group
My name is Jeff Robinson, my Beautiful bride Terri and I own Task Force Security Group. Let me give you a brief history about us and our company. In 1984 I graduated High School in Naylor, MO. It is a small community and school, as one of 17 graduating, I knew my options were limited there so I felt the next step was to look outside the box. I joined the Navy at the end of my Junior year of high school and right after graduation I was flown off to sunny San Diego CA. for boot camp then immediately into my electronics training.
In 1988 I left the Navy and went to work for an independent telephone company in Millington, TN. At Millington Telephone because of my military training, I was transferred into their security department and was tasked with the job of rebuilding their alarm company that had been started years earlier. Up until I joined the company, it was struggling just to survive. After 5 years I had been promoted to supervisor of security and had more than tripled the company size.
In 1997 I met the love of my life, Terri, we dated for 3 years. Then 2000 brought a lot of changes to my life, 1st I married this amazing woman who not only stood behind my desire to own my own company, but pushed me into it. So with literally only $500 put back we started our first alarm company. We were blessed and fortunate enough to have other local companies, that many would of considered our direct competition, eager to see us succeed. They believed in us and helped by giving us a few larger jobs immediately after we made it public that we were open for business.
We worked long hard days, nights, and weekends to build a reputable company. We both quit our jobs and busted our tails to make our company survive. Around 2007, we were offered a deal we later learned was to good to be true and we sold our 1st alarm company. We were both excited about the opportunity to start new careers with normal hours. Thinking this was the best option, giving up all the long hours and struggles to support 5 kids, we thought that selling of our company was what the cards had in store for us.
With new-found time on our hands and no career in front of us, we took time and decided upon somewhat different career paths. I became a reserve police officer with the Atoka PD and fell in love with yet another aspect of protecting and serving- I was nominated by the Chief to attend the Police Academy and become a full time post certified Police Officer. During my time as an officer, I was trained in Swat, Narcotics, and Gangs. I later served as the certified SRO over all 3 of the large schools for the City of Brighton. As crazy as it might sound, my time in law enforcement, gave me even more insight into how criminals think.
Around 2011, the part of the sale of our first company we had self financed for the new owner fell through and out of necessity Task Force Security was started shortly after. In 2013 Task Force had grown to the point we had to make the tough decisions of me leaving law enforcement and Terri leaving her job in EMS so we could properly manage & expand Task Force Security.
Around this time we also made the decision to move back to the area I grew up in and be closer to my father before it became a necessity. Word got out quick that I was back in the business and many of our old customers insisted on switching over to us. We have been back in MO now since 2013.
Update – in 2019 we became known as the best of the best in SEMO for security.
Terri and I have lots of things to be proud about – we physically designed and built our own house, we have a growing alarm/camera security business. We have 9 grandbabies. Our lives are busy between working, traveling, and spending time with the babies – but we are most thankful for what God has done for us.
